A test result describes a particular specimen or component under stated conditions. Before using it in an aircraft-related enquiry, establish exactly what was tested and whether it matches the proposed supply.
Read the report boundary
Identify material, manufacturing process, specimen or part geometry and test condition. Separate a raw-fibre value from a laminate result and a finished-part result. If the report omits key identifiers, request clarification rather than transferring the headline value into a purchase specification.
Check whether anything has changed
Compare the tested and proposed configurations, including material substitutions and manufacturing changes. The relevant design authority determines what additional substantiation is needed. This article discusses evidence handling and does not provide aircraft structural design values or establish approval of a catalogue component.
Scenario di esempio
A report gives a result for a conditioned laminate coupon, while the purchase concerns an assembled bracket. Retain the coupon’s identity and conditions in the record. Ask the responsible reviewer what additional evidence is needed for the bracket configuration.
