A raised feature on a carbon fibre shell can be a cosmetic contour, a hollow formed rib or part of a separately assembled reinforcement. Show the cross-section and connection before calling it a stiffener. The outside shape alone leaves the construction unresolved.
Use a section through the actual feature
A plan view locates a rib but does not show what is inside it. Include a section that identifies the skin, any core or added component, and the relationship to the surrounding shell. If the feature ends near a mounting point, include that termination rather than extending the section indefinitely.
Explain how the proposed construction is made
A formed contour and a bonded reinforcement can have different manufacturing and inspection steps. Ask the supplier to identify the proposed route and any separately supplied item. Do not assign a stiffness improvement from the rib height alone or assume that a rendering represents the agreed laminate.
Review the assembled condition
Connect the section to the actual supports and loads in the component review. A sample can help check geometry and assembly access, but an appearance approval is not a structural result. If the rib construction changes after the sample, retain the revision and the reason for the change. Keep the drawing, process proposal and represented sample aligned before releasing a repeat order.
