A supplier may prepare a manufacturing drawing or redraw supplied geometry for review. That document needs a defined relationship to the customer’s released design. A cleaner-looking drawing is not automatic approval to alter the component requirements.
Name the purpose of the redraw
State whether the document explains a manufacturing proposal, resolves an ambiguity or is intended to become a controlling definition. Keep its identifier and revision visible. A drawing prepared for quotation should not accidentally become the production authority because it was the latest attachment in an email.
Review differences explicitly
Identify changed dimensions, omitted notes and any proposed interpretation of the source geometry. Resolve discrepancies through the agreed review and approval route. Do not assume that silence about a new feature means acceptance, or that a visually similar outline preserves every original requirement.
Retain the release relationship
The order and production record should make clear which documents govern and how later changes are controlled. Where a redraw is accepted for a limited purpose, record that scope. This article concerns operational document control; it does not determine legal design ownership or intellectual-property rights. Those matters belong to the actual agreement between the parties.
