Before a repeat batch can proceed, a project may need a final drawing, confirmed construction, tooling and an accepted sample. Those steps contain review time as well as manufacturing time. A single duration can hide who must make the next decision. List the relevant gates and identify which are already closed.
A sample review can stop the clock
If approval is required before the next stage, agree how the review will be submitted and what makes it complete. An unanswered dimensional question and an accepted sample with a small cosmetic comment are not necessarily the same release state. Record the decision explicitly. Do not treat sending sample photographs as automatic customer approval.
Define the finishing and dispatch scope
Machining, coating, bonding, inspection and packing can be separate operations after molding or material preparation. A quoted completion date may mean ready for collection rather than arrival at the buyer. Ask what is included and separate manufacturing completion from transport. Keep the agreed delivery term or collection arrangement with the order record.
Update the estimate after a change
A drawing change can affect tooling, available material or inspection. Ask for a revised plan tied to the new scope rather than keeping an earlier date without explanation. For repeat orders, confirm whether the accepted tooling and construction are unchanged.
