After an impact or suspected damage to a bicycle component, stop using it and seek the applicable manufacturer or qualified service guidance. Document the event; an undamaged-looking carbon surface is not a complete assessment.
Preserve a clear record
Identify the component and its revision or serial reference where available. Record what happened and provide an overall photograph plus close views of the affected area. Avoid changing the part before the responsible reviewer has specified what information is needed.
Keep cosmetic observations separate from a service decision
A scratch, mark or visible change should be described accurately without diagnosing internal condition from a photograph. Continued-use or repair decisions need the appropriate qualified review for that product. Do not substitute a generic online repair method or a guessed tightening value for the manufacturer’s process.
