Existing workshop photograph of a shaped component during mold release.
A bicycle-frame manufacturing review should connect the drawing, material specification and process records. Photographs of moulding or finishing can explain a process stage, but they do not establish the properties of every finished frame.
Identify the controlled configuration
Ask which drawing and material references govern the sample. Clarify how the supplied frame size and interfaces are identified during manufacture. If tooling, material or a process step changes, ask how that change is recorded and reviewed.
Look for a complete release record
Agree which inspections and project-specific evaluations are required before the frame is released. Separate dimensional, appearance and performance evidence. A tidy workshop image or a claimed manufacturing method should not replace the records for the actual part being supplied.
Example scenario
The sample and the repeat order share a product name but refer to different frame sizes. Identify the size-specific drawing and the applicable manufacturing records. A common family name should not obscure which configuration was actually reviewed.
Points to record
| Design reference | Connect size and interfaces to a controlled drawing. |
|---|---|
| Process record | Identify material and relevant manufacturing changes. |
| Release evidence | List inspection and validation records for the frame. |
