The carrier, cup assemblies and vacuum services have different functions.

Carbon Fiber Vacuum-Gripper Supports: Separate Structure from Vacuum Functions

A carbon fiber support can carry a vacuum-gripper assembly without being the vacuum manifold or sealing surface. Define what the proposed component actually supplies. The structural frame, suction devices, tubing and vacuum controls perform different jobs.

Draw the functional boundaries

Identify where the vacuum path runs and which component provides each seal. If the carbon structure only positions the suction cups, state that scope explicitly. If a passage or sealed interface is proposed in a composite component, it needs a separate requirement and review rather than an assumption based on appearance.

Locate the cup mounts and services

Show mount positions, adjustment ranges and the route for hoses or cables. Include the space needed for connections and replacement. A support that fits when bare may obstruct a fitting once the actual cup assembly and tubing are installed.

Accept the right result

A frame dimensional inspection does not demonstrate vacuum retention or safe object handling. Conversely, a successful vacuum demonstration does not by itself establish the frame’s mechanical suitability. Keep each evaluation tied to its defined system and operating condition. For a quotation, list whether the deliverable is the support only, an assembled mechanical carrier or a larger system supplied by other parties.
