The quotation retains a three-letter rule, named location and version as one complete reference.

Carbon Fiber Delivery Terms: Include the Named Place and Rule Version

When a quotation uses an Incoterms rule, retain the named place or port and the rule version with the three-letter term. A short label such as delivered does not define the same scope. The agreed commercial wording should identify the actual shipment arrangement.

Write the complete reference

ICC’s guidance connects the named location to the selected rule. Ask the parties to identify the relevant point precisely enough for the shipment. A city name may leave an important terminal, warehouse or handover point unresolved.

Keep transport cost and delivery distinct

Under some rules, the named destination for paid carriage differs from the delivery point relevant to risk transfer. Do not assume that the party paying the main freight retains every transit risk until arrival. Refer to the selected rule and the actual contract rather than translating every term into one generic promise.

Reconcile the quote before dispatch

Check that the quotation, purchase order and shipping instruction use consistent terms and locations. Clarify unresolved unloading, customs or documentation responsibilities through the agreed commercial process. This article is a record checklist, not a substitute contract clause. A verified shipment reference also does not change the separate acceptance criteria for the carbon fiber parts.
