Результаты испытаний или проверок имеют ценность только в том случае, если их можно соотнести с поставляемым материалом, деталью и конфигурацией. Отчет, содержащий впечатляющие показатели, но не указывающий конкретный объект применения, трудно использовать при приемке.

Check the identifiers first

Match the drawing revision, part number and batch or sample reference across the purchase order and inspection report. Where a material certificate is included, check how it is linked to the manufacturing batch. Keep unrelated test reports out of the acceptance package.

Record deviations instead of hiding them

If a measurement, material or process differs from the agreed requirement, describe the difference and its approval status. A supplier should not silently replace a missing result with an unrelated generic certificate. The customer’s acceptance authority should be clear before shipment.

Example scenario

A report shows a passing result for an earlier sample, but the current order uses a revised drawing. Ask the supplier to identify which results remain applicable and what has been reviewed again. Keep the earlier report with its original sample reference.
