Application Engineering / Purchasing guide
A bicycle-frame enquiry should start with a controlled geometry and interface package. Identify the intended frame configuration, mating components and applicable acceptance requirements. A frame photograph is useful for discussing style, but it cannot establish fit, compatibility or riding performance for a particular build.
Catalogue reference image. Confirm the quoted configuration against the agreed drawing.
Separate geometry from appearance
Provide the frame drawing or geometry table approved for the project, including the units and size designation. Use photographs to communicate the visual direction separately. If several sizes are planned, identify them individually rather than assuming that one approved sample automatically defines the rest of a size range.
List the mating components
Document the fork, headset, seatpost, wheel, axle, drivetrain and brake interfaces relevant to the design. Include cable-routing and service-access requirements. Use component references or interface drawings where appropriate so the supplier is not expected to infer compatibility from a marketing name.
Plan application-specific approval
State the inspection and validation requirements through the responsible bicycle design and approval process. Distinguish a geometry review, a fit sample and a product approved for use. Record which frame size and configuration the approval covers, and review later substitutions against that scope.

Frequently asked questions
Can a frame be chosen by appearance alone?
No. The geometry, interfaces and applicable validation must match the intended build.
Does approval of one size cover every size?
Do not assume so. Define the scope of approval with the responsible designer and verification process.
Discuss your carbon fiber component
