A photograph taken before trimming should be labelled accordingly when it is used in a quotation or sample review.

Give each boundary a clear reference

Show the final edge on the controlled part definition. If the process proposal includes extra material for handling or trimming, distinguish it on the relevant manufacturing definition. Do not derive the delivered size by measuring the outside of an untrimmed sample or a mould photograph.

Retain the final-edge checks

Agree which dimensions, edge condition and interfaces apply after trimming.
