The probe and holder operate through defined mounting interfaces.

Carbon Fiber Probe Holders: A Repeatability Claim Needs the Whole Setup

A carbon fiber probe holder is one part of a measurement setup. A repeatability claim needs to identify the probe, holder, mounting arrangement and repeated operation. It cannot be established from the holder material or from a single dimensional inspection.

Probe removal and refitting, repeated contact, and repeated machine positioning are different operations. State which one the project requires to be assessed. Without that definition, a reported spread can be attributed to the wrong part of the system.

Describe the interfaces used in the check

Keep probe location features, fastening conditions and the support arrangement with the record. Include the relevant contact or operating load. A holder tested without its actual mounting interface may answer a useful component question, but it should not be presented as a complete installed-system result.

Keep the conclusion within the evidence

The report should identify the measured quantity, repeated sequence and conditions. Discuss the required evaluation with the responsible measurement specialist rather than inventing an accuracy figure for a carbon fiber component. At procurement, distinguish an inspected mechanical holder from a characterized measurement assembly. Any promised evidence should be included in the order scope and linked to the delivered configuration.
