In a process using a rigid mould on one side and a vacuum bag on the other, the two faces experience different contact conditions. Calling both faces “carbon finish” can hide that distinction. Identify which face will be visible and how the other face will be used.

Symmetric and balanced describe different aspects of a laminate. Symmetry concerns the arrangement about the laminate mid-plane. Balance concerns matching positive and negative angle plies under the relevant material and thickness assumptions. One word does not automatically imply the other.

A ply angle only makes sense relative to an identified direction. In a laminate definition, 0°, 90° and ±45° describe orientations measured from that reference. They are not universal directions built into a finished component or a photograph of its weave.

A fabric thickness listed before impregnation is not automatically the thickness one ply will occupy in a cured part. Cured ply thickness belongs to a defined material and processing condition. Keep that distinction when turning a ply count into a panel or wall dimension.

“3K” describes a bundle of 3,000 carbon filaments. Fabric weight describes the mass of fabric over a stated area, commonly in grams per square metre. One is a yarn description; the other describes the cloth. They should not be used as substitutes on an order.
